Strathclyde University Law School Established in 1964, Strathclyde Law School is a leading, research-led UK law school based in the heart of Glasgow, with an emphasis on innovative routes to study and experiential learning. We offer professional legal education programmes to equip students for practice in Scotland as well as in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and a suite of post graduate programmes of value to home and overseas students. One of our flagship offerings is the MSc/LLM in Mediation and Conflict Resolution, an innovative, cutting edge programme which blends interactive, practical skills-based learning with theoretical learning for mediators, lawyers, judges, business professionals seeking to enhance their mediation skills, as well as graduate students interested in furthering their knowledge of mediation and conflict resolution. Students on the programme are given the opportunity to enhance their employability and gain practical experience in mediation by participating in our mediation clinic in which student mediators offer a free service to parties in dispute including litigants in the local Sheriff Court. Our range of programmes include LLBs in Scots Law as well as, Law and Modern Language offerings (with Spanish, Italian and French) and a ‘dual qualifying’ LLB which is a qualifying law degree for practice in Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland and which may also be used to qualify in a range of overseas jurisdictions. We also offer a unique ‘Clinical’ LLB which embeds clinical based, experiential learning at all stages of study. The latter course is based upon our multi-award winning student led Law Clinic - http://www.lawclinic.org.uk/ - which offers a free legal advice and representation service to ease unmet legal need in the Greater Glasgow area while providing unparalleled experiential opportunities for our students.
